This morning when we were leaving the house, Gabriel told me that this is the perfect rose:

I agree. It is beautiful. The scent is perfect as well.

Antelope Horns is a favorite of monarch butterflies as a food for caterpillars. I was happy to find a couple of plants on our property.

Driftin' & Dreamin' and A Rat Snake

This rat snake slithered up to our front porch on Easter Saturday to scope out the swallow's nest (see last March). He must have been hopeful for some swallow's eggs for his Easter brunch! Luckily, no joy for the snake and Tony immediately knocked down the nest. I do not like meeting snakes on the front porch.

Driftin' & Dreamin' and Baby Blue Eyes

A volunteer plant I found in the side garden - it has a nice vase life and graced our table on Easter. Until I identified it as Baby Blue Eyes I was calling it Tangled up (in) Blue.

We had a patch of interesting bluebonnets - some pink, some white, some red, and some MAROON. Oh, those Aggies! Here is photo of the pink bluebonnets, almost gone to seed.

This clump of bluebonnets appeared in the gravel driveway in front of the house.
